About Cancer / Tumors
Our compassionate team of interventional radiologists works closely with oncologists and surgeons to provide targeted cancer care while keeping patients comfortable and improving quality of life. Using minimally invasive techniques, our physicians target tumors with cancer-killing treatments, minimizing unpleasant side effects that are common in less targeted cancer care. Patients experience less pain and quicker recovery times, while the treatments have the potential to be more effective.
In addition to cancer treatments, we use similar techniques to improve a patient's comfort level and alleviate symptoms, or to place chest ports for chemotherapy.
Treatments:
Radioembolization is a treatment option that uses embolization to block a tumor's blood supply and radiation to fight the tumor from within. Injecting the radiation directly into the tumor allows us to use a higher dose than traditional radiation therapy, providing more targeted care and the potential for high efficacy.
Chemoembolization is a treatment option that uses embolization to block a tumor's blood supply and chemotherapy to fight the tumor from within. Targeting the tumor directly positions us to effectively reduce the size of tumors and improve symptoms in some cancers.
